First Level

Greetings Adventurer,

Today's post is a video of my FIRST level in UDK. I did not realize til the end of the class how hard throwing together a level is by yourself. It was an awesome learning experience though, especially watching your planning and fruition come to play. I designed my level to be a one player platforming puzzle. it turned out being a platformer with much needed attention to the puzzles...

all models, textures, and kismet functions were done by yours truly.

Comments and Critiques of the level are welcome. Til next time.

Cordially Yours,
Jordan "Pumpkin-King" Franklin

What a Character

Hello Patrons,

This post is dedicated to a few videos of characters I have done for classes and such. I will say before you go any farther that my character work is not up to par. However I need to get into showing all my work since that is how you get good critique, right? all the models, textures, skins, and rigs were done by me. I also did all the animations EXCEPT the shaman(that was provided by the teacher).

The first video is of a character I had to have interacting with a vehicle in the environment.

This next video is another character I had to make interacting with the environment.

The last video is the character I worked on for Character Modeling.

Comments and critiques are always welcome as usual. If you have any questions or want more information you can contact me by email.

Well that is it for this post, Next post will be something inside of the Unreal Development Kit! make sure to stay tuned.

Humbly Yours,

Sketch Practice 3

Hello again minions,

Here is some more artwork I dug up from the depths of my doodle folders. One is just me practicing some female faces since I still have trouble grasping beauty, and the other is some sketches I did for a cancelled mod dealing with zombies(if you couldn't tell). I also included a skeleton I was doodling for another long lost project as well as an old environment mock up for a 3D project(that I will post about later).

Comments and Critiques are always welcome and I will keep digging to present more along the way~!

Respectfully Yours,
Jordan "RoxInSox" Franklin

UDK Learning: Part 1

Hello Comrades,

Since I have been absent for quite some time again I am going to do my best to add a few posts updating my recent activity in art, models, and knowledge in my field.

This post will be about the stuff I had learned in UDK by following tutorials I found amongst the internet. I have learned to dabble amongst the particle system and cloth modifier on a skeletal mesh.

If you have any questions about how I have done things you can email me personally or post a comment. the one thing I will mention is I had trouble getting the collision to work on the flag itself so any feedback on that would be greatly appreciated.

comments and critiques are greatly appreciated as always. Enjoi.

Ecstatically Yours,
Jordan "Nautilus" Franklin

Shaman WIP

Hello Followers,

I decided to post my second work in progress character started from Zbrush. right now he is in the process of getting high poly modeled, but eventually he will be re-topologized, textured, and re-imported back into 3ds max. This post will be short since it's early and I just wanted to show off my character and the ability to render a turn-around from Zbrush.

Comments and Critiques are welcome. Thanks for visiting and I will post more work soon.

Cordially Yours,

The First Two Years: Part Two

Hello again folks,

This post contains some animatics I have done from my digital storytelling class back in 2010. I wanted to motivate myself into progress because recently I've been spinning my wheels. Seeing how far I have come in these three years is really eye opening and inspiring. Obviously I still have a long way to go but improvement is happening. so without further adieu here is my videos.

Comments and Critiques are welcome, since its always nice to hear what I did wrong or right =).
Now I must get back to the drawing board and concoct up some more sketches, models, and things that look pretty. Til next time.

Cordially Yours,
Jordan " Zombie Slayer " Franklin

The First Two Years: Part One

Hello to all!

Since my graduation day is coming closer and closer I decided to take a moment and reflect on some old work I had. In this post I will show some old digital images I edited in a photoshop class as well as two 3D models I made back in the day. This is not portfolio work and I merely post it as a reminder that we all improve and can continue on a growing path.

Next post will contain some videos so keep an eye open!

Sketches from around the house

Hello Again!

It has been quite some time since I last posted and to be honest I really am working on consistency with my posts. But enough about my procrastination and on to the subject. Recently I have been chatting with my career services advisor at my school (Ryan Jones) and he suggested that I get even my practice sketches online. So taking that initiative I compiled a few sketches that I think are worthwhile to share.

Im terrible at drawing women... so I keep trying.

Doodles when Im supposed to be doing homework

Concepts for stylised guns

Pose from the cover of the ImagineFX game art edition.
I also will be trying to get some screen shots of my 3D work on here as well soon. for now though I must get back to class and back on improving.

Cordially Yours,
